President Obama has issued an executive order asking independent government agencies, such as the Securities & Exchange Commission and the Federal Trade Commission, to assess and streamline their regulations.
The president wants the SEC and the FTC and the other independent agencies to develop and release to the public within 120 days a plan for periodically reviewing their existing "significant" regulations to determine whether they should be modified, streamlined, expanded, or repealed to make them more effective or less burdensome...
